One of the best parts about our nights in Barcelona was wandering around and finding cute little wine bars. The different neighborhoods are full of great spots to grab a glass of wine and a small plate of food. One of our favorites was La Vinya del Senyor. I would like to say that I just stumbled upon it (and we did stumble upon some great bars) but this one came recommended by an amazing travel website, Indagare. This site is full of useful tips for traveling and has great city-specific recommendations. I have tried many wonderful spots thanks to their “travel wisdom”! La Vinya del Senyor is in the Gothic Quarter – close to Cal Pep – so we decided to stop in for a glass of wine after dinner. We ended up staying the rest of the night.
It is such a charming, cozy spot on the square by Santa Mara del Mar church. It is a small space, with bar and high-top seating on the first floor and a few small tables upstairs. There are also tables outside which would be prime for people watching in nicer weather. Unfortunately it was a bit too chilly the night we were there. We found a few seats at the bar in the back corner and settled in for the night. The bartender spoke English and helped us choose a great bottle of wine. The list is extensive, so it was nice to have help picking out something local. There is a small selection of tapas as well, although we were full from our amazing dinner. We actually loved this place so much that we came back on the last night of our trip. However it was too crowded that night, so apparently the word is out about our little spot!
