Mango Strawberry Smoothie

June 12, 2015 by Cate 15 Comments

This Mango Strawberry Smoothie is my go-to breakfast this summer. Mango and yogurt give it a great creamy texture and the flavor combo is perfect!

Do you ever get obsessed with a certain food / recipe? I go through phases where I eat the same thing literally every day until I’m sick of it. For awhile, it was these pancakes (one of my favorite solo dinner meals!) And right now, it is this Mango Strawberry Smoothie. I have found my perfect smoothie combo! Frozen mangos, fresh strawberries, light vanilla yogurt, and pineapple-coconut water. Love love love it.   The flavor is amazing, and it is so refreshing.  I’m absolutely obsessed!

TheBetterHalf and I are leaving in a few hours for our summer vacation! We are going to Italy and Croatia for two weeks, and can not wait!!! If you want to see pix, follow me on Instagram! In case you are wondering, here is where we are going:

Genoa
Portofino
Gavi
Bologna
Rome
Dubrovnik

So much pasta and gelato and Italian wine in my future! I will take detailed notes and report back in a few weeks!

Back to this Mango Strawberry Smoothie. I love smoothie recipes. They are just so easy! 4 ingredients. Into a blender. Add a fun straw. And voila!

I like using Dannon Light n Fit vanilla yogurt in this smoothie. I’m usually a Greek yogurt fan, but I like the texture and sweetness of the light vanilla yogurt in this recipe.  I use frozen mango for the texture, but I like fresh strawberries because I think the flavor is so much better than frozen strawberries.   And then finally, my liquid of choice for this smoothie is pineapple coconut water, like this one.  It adds a great tropical flavor and an extra hint of sweetness.

This is one perfect smoothie, and I seriously can’t stop making it!  Hope you like it as much as I do!

Cate! You are making me so jealous (in a good way) with all of your beautiful pictures of Italy! I can’t wait for your round up on the blog!
I love this smoothie recipe! My Mum and Dad have a mango tree in their backyard and all summer long Mum freezes the mangoes so they are ready to go into smoothies. Seriously the best thing ever! I cannot wait to try this combination as soon as the tree starts fruiting again!

I am not a crazy mango lover (as in eating freshly peeled) but the idea of it pureed into a smoothie has me intrigued! I think it is a texture thing when it comes to whole mangoes. Cannot wait to try this!

I am the same way about sticking with the same thing! I eat a greek yogurt for breakfast every morning and I probably will for the next 3 months and then onto something else!
But this mango strawberry smoothie is making me think I need to have this for breakfast instead! YUMM!

Oh food obsessions…like how I can’t stop eating this apple cinnamon oatmeal bake?! I wake up in the morning and run to the kitchen because I am so excited to have it! Pathetic right? I will just blame it on the baby 😉 And this smoothie? I love everything about it, and that color is gorgeous!
