Can you believe it is the Fourth of July next week??  Summer is here in full force! I have been thinking about making these cute lil Red, White, and Blue Smoothie for months now, and then all of a sudden the time to make them was here!  I love making smoothies in the summer, and one ingredient that is always in my recipes is Chobani Greek Yogurt. And if you’re a yogurt fanatic like me, you are going to pretty excited when I tell you this….

Over Memorial Day Weekend, Cate and I ventured out to the great Pacific Northwest to spend some time in Seattle. It was our first time in this area of the country and we really enjoyed our time in this beautiful city on the water. This Honey Oatmeal Bread is the perfect loaf for sandwiches – oatmeal makes it hearty and gives it a great texture and honey adds a touch of sweetness.

It has been quite some time since I baked bread! Once the temperatures start heating up, I usually spend less time baking and more time outside. I love baking bread, but it is definitely labor intensive. However the other weekend I was craving some fresh baked bread. So I decided to try my hand at creating my own recipe – honey oatmeal bread, using quick oats. The bread turned out beautifully! It has a delicious flavor and is absolutely perfect for sandwiches. I loved it so much that I have another batch of dough rising right now!

It is an absolutely gorgeous day here in NYC! Sunny, 75, just a few puffy white clouds in the blue sky – perfect! It rained about every day this week, including an absolute monsoon last night, so we are ready for some sunshine. And chez CateyLou, beautiful weekend days mean rooftop cocktails! One of the perks of NYC living:) So today I have a Grapefruit Tequila Cocktail with Chocolate Bitters for you.
