Pumpkin Donuts with Chocolate Icing

Light and fluffy baked pumpkin donuts are topped with rich chocolate icing. Fall breakfast has never looked so good!

So you might have noticed it is October and I have not posted any pumpkin recipes yet (ok this beer cheese was made with pumpkin beer, but no actual pumpkin). And that is because I was saving up for this…I have declared this week PUMPKIN WEEK. Yep that’s right, I made up my own food holiday week.

As you might remember from last year, I loooove pumpkin. The second the temperature starts to drop and the leaves start to change, all I want to eat is pumpkin everything, all the time. And so I decided to share my pumpkin love with you and bring you 5 days of pumpkin recipes.

And I figured the best way to kick off PUMPKIN WEEK is with donuts! Because I love making baked donuts almost as much as I love pumpkin. And I also wanted a reason to use these cute fall sprinkles. So for my first recipe of the week, I bring you Baked Pumpkin Donuts with Chocolate Icing.

Baked Blueberry Donuts & a Giveaway!

Happy Friday! Labor Day Weekend is so bittersweet. I love having a day off work, the promise of my favorite season ahead, and Notre Dame football starting tomorrow (!). But on the other hand, it means the end of summer which is always kind of sad. So to send summer off in style I drank a bottle of Rosé with my friends last night and made baked blueberry donuts for you – because nothing says summer to me more than fresh berries! And Rosé.

Also, today marks the year anniversary of the Mystery Dish group!! I joined the group late, but I still get to celebrate with them, right?! We are coming up on a holiday – July 4th! And it wouldn’t be a holiday Chez CateyLou without a festive donut recipe!! It has kind of become my thing. I celebrate holidays by creating donuts. Christmas. Valentine’s Day. St. Patrick’s Day. Easter. And now, American Flag Donuts for July 4th!!

Baked Lemon Donuts made with Greek Yogurt

These baked lemon donuts are full of delicious citrus flavor. Greek yogurt is the secret to keeping them super light and moist – perfect for Mother’s Day brunch!

I always hear people say that they are either a lemon lover or a chocolate lover and I never really understood that – why can’t you be both?? If I had to pick, I (obviously) pick chocolate. But I really love lemon too! So even though I could eat these chocolate frosted donuts every day, I wanted to give lemon donuts a shot.

And wow, I’m so glad I did! These baked lemon donuts are absolutely amazing. The flavor is delicious – so fresh and citrusy. I think these would be a lovely thing to make for Mother’s Day brunch!

Guinness Stout Chocolate Donuts #KissMeImIrish

Guinness Stout beer in the batter and the icing really makes the chocolate flavor shine in these baked donuts. Perfect for St. Patrick’s Day breakfast!
Who wants Guinness for breakfast?! Ok I know, it sounds kind of weird. And I felt strange cracking open a beer at 8am. But let me tell you – it tastes amazing in these donuts! You can’t really taste beer, it just brings out the chocolate flavor. And, I can’t think of a better way to celebrate St. Patrick’s day than with Guinness and sprinkles.

When my friend Connie over at URBAN BAKES invited me to her #KissMeImIrish St. Patrick’s Day blog party, I was so in! 12 of us made fun St. Patrick’s Day treats for you – and they all include alcohol!
