Happy Sunday! How was everyone’s weekend? TheBetterHalf and I were in DC to celebrate his sister’s graduation from college. So even though I was not baking bread this weekend, I can still tell you about it!

Remember this English Muffin bread? I love it because it is one of the easiest yeast breads I have ever made – and it is delicious! Well I decided to change it up a bit and make a cinnamon raisin version. It is no secret that I love baking bread. I usually try out a different loaf every weekend that we are in town. But for some reason, I never make rolls. I’m not sure why – they aren’t harder to make than normal bread. I just never think about it. But some sandwiches just call out for a roll. Like pulled pork – definitely need a roll for that! Lemon Ricotta Pancakes

Sunday morning = pancake time. Growing up, my dad made us a big breakfast almost every Sunday.  It was the best. Well, it still is the best because he still cooks breakfast any time I am home in St. Louis. Tons of bacon. Fresh squeezed orange juice. Fried eggs if you want them (cooked in bacon fat and served on rye toast. that is worthy of its own blog post). And of course, my favorite, pancakes.

I still crave pancakes pretty much every weekend. And while I will always love good old fashioned plain pancakes, I love trying out new varieties. Like these lemon ricotta pancakes.

Oatmeal Sandwich Bread

This is my first bread post of 2014!  I might seem overly excited about this, but it is because I love bread.  It doesn’t matter how many times I bake bread, I still get excited every time it turns out well.  And this loaf of oatmeal sandwich bread turned out so well.  TheBetterHalf actually said it was his favorite loaf yet, and that really shocked me because there is a whole cup of oatmeal in here!  He is not the biggest fan of oatmeal.  But you can’t actually tell there are oats in here – they kind of dissolve and the resulting bread has a soft but sturdy texture.  It is the perfect sandwich bread!

Just look at that PB&J – doesn’t that picture make you want one?   I might need to have that for lunch today.  …

Yes, you read that title correctly – Stuffing Bread!  A loaf of bread that tastes just like your favorite Thanksgiving stuffing.  Wow.  When I saw this recipe on King Arthur Flour, I knew I HAD to make it for TheBetterHalf.  He is a stuffing fanatic.  Whenever we talk about Thanksgiving, all he can focus on is stuffing.  But I have never actually made stuffing for him. See he likes his grandmothers special stuffing recipe, and I really can’t compete with that.  But a loaf of bread that tastes like stuffing?  That I can do!  And it definitely gets his seal of approval. He declared this his favorite bread that I have ever made.  Gold star for me!…
