Stuffing Bread

November 9, 2013 by Cate 20 Comments

All the flavors of your favorite Thanksgiving stuffing baked into a loaf of bread!

Stuffing Bread | chezcateylou.com

Yes, you read that title correctly – Stuffing Bread!  A loaf of bread that tastes just like your favorite Thanksgiving stuffing.  Wow.  When I saw this recipe on King Arthur Flour, I knew I HAD to make it for TheBetterHalf.  He is a stuffing fanatic.  Whenever we talk about Thanksgiving, all he can focus on is stuffing.  But I have never actually made stuffing for him. See he likes his grandmothers special stuffing recipe, and I really can’t compete with that.  But a loaf of bread that tastes like stuffing?  That I can do!  And it definitely gets his seal of approval. He declared this his favorite bread that I have ever made.  Gold star for me!…

No-Knead Cranberry Walnut Bread

October 18, 2013 by Cate 22 Comments

No-Knead Cranberry Walnut Bread | chezcateylou.com

The first recipe that I posted on my blog was no-knead bread, and it is still one of my absolute favorite things to bake.  I just love that with very little effort, I can have an amazing loaf of freshly baked bread any time that I want it!  And there are so many different varieties, the possibilities are endless.  I’ve shared bacon and carrot with you, and today I have a recipe for cranberry walnut bread.  This might be my new favorite.  The tart, sweet cranberries pair so nicely with the toasty walnuts.  And it makes the best toast!!…

Whole Wheat Sandwich Bread

June 21, 2013 by Cate 16 Comments

A great recipe for classic Whole Wheat Sandwich Bread. This is a light and fluffy wheat bread that is still sturdy enough for a sandwich!

Whole Wheat Sandwich Bread | http://ChezCateyLou.com
I love no-knead bread and quick easy bread, but when I have time on a weekend, I really enjoy making good old fashioned bread.  The kind that requires kneading, takes up lots of time, and causes a mess.  But that’s what weekends are for, right?  It had been awhile since I had baked bread, so last weekend I decided to make Whole Wheat Sandwich Bread.  I have made this recipe before, so I knew it would be a winner, and that TheBetterHalf would like it, even though it has whole wheat in there (he is a white bread kind of guy). …

Easy Cinnamon Bread

June 18, 2013 by Cate 13 Comments

This easy cinnamon bread is made with yeast, but it requires absolutely no kneading. Just mix up the dough, let it rise for an hour, and bake. So easy!

Easy Cinnamon Bread - a yeast bread that requires no kneading! | ChezCateyLou.com

When I made this cinnamon bread for breakfast last Saturday morning, TheBetterHalf said, “Can you make this every weekend?”  That’s how I know I have a good recipe!  And as a bonus, it could not be easier to make.  It is a hybrid between a yeast bread and a baking powder bread, but there is absolutely no kneading required!  Just mix up the ingredients, let it sit for an hour, and then bake it!  It is so simple, and so delicious.  We are both cinnamon lovers, and this bread is full of warm, sweet cinnamon flavor!  It reminds me of coffee cake.  The aroma when it is baking is unreal!  The cinnamon bread is great plain, and even better toasted.  Don’t let the top part of the bread fall in your toaster though – I may or may not have started a mini fire in our toaster oven…

I used cinnamon chips from King Arthur Flour, and have also used Hershey’s cinnamon chips.  They can be tricky to find, so I like to order them online.  I have made this recipe several times, and will definitely be making it again!  …

English Muffin Bread

April 16, 2013 by Cate 25 Comments

This English Muffin is full of nooks and crannies, making it perfect for toast. Plus, it is the easiest loaf of yeast bread I have ever made – no-kneading required!

English Muffin Bread | chezcateylou.com

When I made this recipe on Friday, I was so excited to share it with you.  The reason: I have found a bread recipe that is easier than no-knead! I started this bread at 5:30pm on Friday, and it was out of the oven by 7:30pm. Seriously, it is the easiest bread I have ever made and the results were great!
