Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Muffins

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Muffins – light and fluffy muffins are full of delicious peanut butter and chocolate flavors. It is like dessert for breakfast!

Does anyone notice anything different today? Something new? Something fresh and clean? Yep, that’s right, Chez CateyLou got a makeover!! What do you think?

I am loving my new site design! A big thanks to the wonderful Katie at Twin Stripe for designing my logo. Didn’t she do an amazing job? Also a big thanks to TheBetterHalf for dealing with all the technical headaches that came along with this lovely new site. I’ll tell you what, all this blogging stuff is a lot harder than we thought it would be! But it is totally worth it.

So in honor of the first post on my newly designed site, I made peanut butter chocolate chip muffins. I obviously had to include peanut butter, my one true love (sorry TheBetterHalf, but that’s payback for when you wouldn’t say you loved me more than the Eagles).

Chocolate Cake with Peanut Butter Buttercream Frosting {Chez CateyLou’s 1st Birthday}

Rich and moist chocolate cake is topped with the most amazing peanut butter buttercream frosting – a chocolate peanut butter lover’s dream cake!

Happy Birthday to Chez CateyLou! Our little blog is one year old today. I actually can’t believe it has been an entire year!! Time really flies. I have learned so much this past year – about photography, cooking, food styling, blogging, social media – the list goes on and on! A year ago I wasn’t even on Pinterest – now, it is our number one source of traffic to the blog. I didn’t even know what DSLR meant (ok I can’t lie – I just had to google what DSLR actually stands for) and now my fancy camera is one of my favorite possessions. I even named it, or her to be exact. Her name is Cécile – my French camera for my French blog name – and she has become a member of the family (and now you all know how weird I really am)!

But thank you for sticking with me and reading all of my posts. You, my dear readers, are the reason that this little blog is around and that I continue to work so hard at it each and every day. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

And now it is time for cake. With peanut butter buttercream frosting. Oh yes.

Oatmeal Sandwich Bread

This is my first bread post of 2014! I might seem overly excited about this, but it is because I love bread. It doesn’t matter how many times I bake bread, I still get excited every time it turns out well. And this loaf of oatmeal sandwich bread turned out so well. TheBetterHalf actually said it was his favorite loaf yet, and that really shocked me because there is a whole cup of oatmeal in here! He is not the biggest fan of oatmeal. But you can’t actually tell there are oats in here – they kind of dissolve and the resulting bread has a soft but sturdy texture. It is the perfect sandwich bread!

Just look at that PB&J – doesn’t that picture make you want one? I might need to have that for lunch today. …

It’s the most wonderful time of the year….cookie season! I really can’t get enough cookies around Christmas, so I am excited to share my cookie love today as a guest poster on Twin Stripe. There have been a lot of cookie recipes on Chez CateyLou lately like these gingerbread cookies and these white chocolate cranberry cookies, but I saved my favorite one to share with you today. These Peanut Butter Reindeer Cookies are the cutest cookies I have ever made! Look at those little faces – aren’t they precious? And as an added bonus, they taste amazing too.

Halloween is coming up, and you know what that means…candy everywhere!! What a great holiday. I’ll take any excuse I can to eat more sugar.
