Chocolate Bundt Cake

Chocolate Bundt Cake is so rich and moist thanks to sour cream in the batter. A gorgeous and delicious chocolate cake!

Did everyone have a good holiday weekend? It was nice to have a day off work but I must say, my weekend was not so great. TheBetterHalf and I were supposed to go visit my family in St. Louis. After an hour delay and 2 hours sitting on the plane at LaGuardia, AA canceled our flight! They were unable to re-book us, so we had to cancel our whole trip. Needless to say, I was not a happy camper.

So I made a cake to cheer myself up! Who wouldn’t smile at a nice, rich chocolate bundt cake! Just smelling this in the oven made my weekend start to look up immediately.

Remember this blackberry cinnamon roll cake? It was one of my all time favorite things that I have ever made. So easy, so delicious, so impressive – it is literally the perfect breakfast recipe! So I decided to change it up a bit and make a peach pecan version! I am such a huge fan of peaches – they are my favorite thing to eat in the summer (ok, other than ice cream!) – and I really like the flavor of peaches with cinnamon. I combined the flavors in my Peach Yogurt Bread and it is one of the top recipes on my site! Speaking of yogurt, did you enter to win FREE Chobani yet??

Move aside, blackberry cinnamon roll cake – I think I have found a new favorite!

Pasta salad is just such a perfect summery food. It is great for picnics or a light dinner. This Grapefruit Tequila Cocktail with Chocolate Bitters, modeled after a drink at the popular Seattle bar Sun Liquor, is the perfect combo of sweet and tart.

It is an absolutely gorgeous day here in NYC! Sunny, 75, just a few puffy white clouds in the blue sky – perfect! It rained about every day this week, including an absolute monsoon last night, so we are ready for some sunshine. And chez CateyLou, beautiful weekend days mean rooftop cocktails! One of the perks of NYC living:) So today I have a Grapefruit Tequila Cocktail with Chocolate Bitters for you.

Yes, chocolate bitters!! Perhaps my new favorite cocktail ingredient.
