Today is a very important day – it is TheBetterHalf’s Birthday! As the biggest chocolate peanut butter lover of all time (I’m pretty sure he thinks he was the first person to like the delicious flavor combo), I of course had to make him something choco pb. And since I already made a chocolate peanut butter cake for Chez CateyLou’s birthday, I made TheBetterHalf Peanut Butter Brownies! Fudgy chocolate brownies with a thick peanut butter layer sandwiched right in the middle – if that doesn’t scream Birthday Treat, I don’t know what does!

Hello from 35,000 feet in the air! TheBetterHalf and I are on our way to Seattle for memorial day weekend. (Ok now that I have internet to post this, we are already in Seattle. But I wrote this on the plane 🙂 ) We are so excited for our little getaway – I desperately need a vacation. I’ve heard great things about this city, and I know it has a great food scene! Our list of places to eat is long but there is always room for more– if you have any suggestions, let me know!  And make sure to follow me on Instagram for picture updates from our trip.

With memorial day weekend comes summer and with summer comes zucchini! I love baking with zucchini in the summertime. You don’t taste it at all, but it makes baked goods really moist. Plus, who couldn’t use a little extra nutrition in their muffins? And to top it all off, these chocolate zucchini muffins are 100% whole wheat, are made with Greek yogurt, and use coconut oil!  Such a healthy and delicious way to start your day.

Ok I know what you’re thinking right now – Broccoli? But what about the donuts and cookies and chocolate peanut butter anything? Don’t worry, they are coming soon (I may or may not have made these last night…). But I just HAD to tell you about this broccoli. Why?

Because it is the absolute best broccoli I have ever had. In fact, it is the best veggie I have ever had – at a restaurant or in my own kitchen. I’m not exaggerating. This stuff is amazing. It even converted TheBetterHalf into a broccoli lover, and he had previously not been a fan of the healthy green vegetable. Plus it is so simple to make – there are only 5 ingredients, and that is counting salt and pepper!…

Happy Sunday! How was everyone’s weekend? TheBetterHalf and I were in DC to celebrate his sister’s graduation from college. So even though I was not baking bread this weekend, I can still tell you about it!

Remember this English Muffin bread? I love it because it is one of the easiest yeast breads I have ever made – and it is delicious! Well I decided to change it up a bit and make a cinnamon raisin version. Cinnamon.Rolls. Are there two better words in the English language? I really don’t think so. I think waking up on a Saturday morning to a freshly baked cinnamon roll might just be the best thing ever. But if you’re making the real deal from start to finish with the yeast and the rising and the rolling and the slicing, then you are looking at cinnamon rolls for lunch rather than breakfast! And that’s why overnight cinnamon rolls are here to save the day.
