Peanut butter frosting is spread all over a baked chocolate donut, resulting in the most amazing breakfast ever! Sweet & salty and totally delicious!

Ohh it is a good morning at Chez CateyLou. A great morning in fact. And that is because I have the best donuts I have made thus far to share with you. That’s right, the best. And I have made a lot of donuts since I bought my little pan back in the fall. The name says it all – chocolate donuts with peanut butter frosting.

If you are a chocolate peanut butter lover, then you are going to agree that these donuts are insanely delicious! And also that they really are dessert and not breakfast. But anything goes on Saturday mornings in our house.

Ricotta and whipped eggwhites make these lemon ricotta pancakes the lightest and fluffiest pancakes I have ever eaten! Perfect for weekend breakfasts!

Sunday morning = pancake time. Growing up, my dad made us a big breakfast almost every Sunday. It was the best. Well, it still is the best because he still cooks breakfast any time I am home in St. Louis. Tons of bacon. Fresh squeezed orange juice. Fried eggs if you want them (cooked in bacon fat and served on rye toast. that is worthy of its own blog post). And of course, my favorite, pancakes.

I still crave pancakes pretty much every weekend. And while I will always love good old fashioned plain pancakes, I love trying out new varieties. Like these lemon ricotta pancakes.

It is time for another Mystery Dish post! This month, Allie from Baking a Moment picked a fun list of celebratory ingredients for us. They were Champagne, Strawberries, Oranges, Beets, Filet Mignon, Lobster, Cream, Chocolate, Rosewater, and Rice. Since champagne, lobster, and filet mignon aren’t in my usual cooking repertoire, I’m not really sure what rosewater is, and I am not a fan of beets, I decided to go with what I know and love – chocolate and strawberries! It doesn’t get much better than that. Especially when combined in a baked donut – chocolate donuts with strawberry cream cheese icing to be exact!

Light and fluffy homemade cinnamon rolls from scratch, in an hour?? It is possible with these One Hour Cinnamon Rolls! Weekend breakfast has never looked so good, or so easy!

I finally did it. What is it, you ask? I made cinnamon rolls! They are one of those bucket list cooking items that I have been wanting to make for ages, but just haven’t attempted. They kind of scared me for two main reasons. One, because I thought they would be really hard to make. And two, because I was worried I would eat the entire pan. Well I can’t really help you with number 2, because these are amazing. You might eat the whole pan. But making them? That I can help you with! I can’t lie, they are not the easiest thing in the world to make, but they are definitely worth the effort. And, they only take an hour to make – yep that’s right, one hour cinnamon rolls!
