Lemon Raspberry Yogurt Cake

Tart lemon and sweet raspberries give amazing flavor to my Lemon Raspberry Yogurt Cake. Yogurt keeps it moist yet light, and it couldn’t be easier to make!

I’m back! Or am I? I’m not quite sure yet. All I know is that Friday after work I was in the mood to bake something. So I made a Lemon Raspberry Yogurt Cake. And it turned out well. And Saturday morning while Carlyle napped I decided to take some pictures. And they weren’t half bad. So I thought maybe I should start blogging again! I realized I have kind of missed this. Even though I have about zero free time these days, I’m going to hopefully figure out a way to start sharing recipes with you again. We shall see how this goes…

After such a long time away, we have a lot to discuss – like the birth of my sweet baby girl, my cross country move to San Francisco, and lots of Bay Area travels – but I will save all of that for other posts. For now, I will just talk about this beautiful, summery, Lemon Raspberry Yogurt Cake….

Today we are celebrating….it is Chez CateyLou’s 3rd birthday!!!! I can’t believe I have had this blog for 3 years! This is where it all started, with lots of help from TheBetterHalf! It is so much fun to look at how much my blog has grown and changed since I began. I have learned so much the past 3 years, met incredible people, and done amazing things – all thanks to my little corner of the internet.

We have a bit of a theme around here when it comes to celebrating blog birthdays…and it involves chocolate and peanut butter. 1st birthday. 2nd birthday. So I had to continue the tradition for the 3rd birthday, with these Chocolate Peanut Butter Heart Cakes. I know we are well into the new year, but this is my first post of 2016 so….Happy New Year! My slow down in blogging is entirely because of this. I work full-time, and I used to spend my free time daydreaming about (and then making, photographing, and writing about) cookies and breads and cakes…now most of my free time is spent researching baby things and attempting to sleep. Growing a baby takes a lot of energy! I’m still around, just won’t be posting as frequently. But when I do post, the recipes are definitely going to be some of my favorites! So the news I mentioned the other day….I’m pregnant! TheBetterHalf and I are expecting a sweet baby girl, due on March 28. We are absolutely thrilled, and can’t wait to start this next chapter of our lives. Today I am so excited to be hosting a virtual baby shower for my friend Meg at With Salt and Wit. She is having a sweet baby boy, and some other blogger friends and I wanted to give them some love!! Scroll down to the end of the post to see what everyone made for the shower!

Every party needs cupcakes, and since we made the shower Fall themed, I thought pumpkin cupcakes would be the perfect thing to make! And really – I also look for any excuse I can find to make cream cheese frosting. I could eat this stuff by the spoonful!
